Reedley, CA – Two leading Central Valley women owned agricultural businesses, Gar Tootelian Inc. of Reedley and Bennett Water Systems of Lemoore announced pending merger plans to company employees yesterday.

“We help growers feed the world by continually raising the bar with expert advice, products and services to address California’s growing challenges,” announced CEO Greg Musson to the large crowd on November 13th. “The merger of Bennett Water Systems with GAR raises the bar and brings together two locally owned family businesses with outstanding reputations for integrity and trust with complimentary cultural values, products and services. Together, our opportunities are endless.”

The merger assists both women owned companies in bringing together a full product offering of grower services ranging from water systems to crop protection. Both family businesses share a commitment to longstanding relationships in the Central Valley serving agriculture. Bennett’s 90-year history combined with GAR’s 70-year history makes them the valley’s oldest agricultural company, spanning more than five generations.

“We are excited about the opportunity to be a leader in growing solutions for valley growers. Our combined activities make growing easier with an expanded offering of services and experts in the field,” stated CEO Tyler Bennett. “The merger allows us to bring together the most technologically qualified team of experts to maximize crop yields with less water. We will be armed with resources to exceed grower expectations, differentiate ourselves from the competition and keep as many acres in production as possible in a post-SGMA world.”

The merger is expected to become official January 1, 2020. Tyler Bennett and Greg Musson will act as Co-CEO’s of the newly formed GAR Bennett, LLC. The merger will provide Central Valley growers with full service solutions in: crop protection, nutrition, regulatory compliance, food safety, agronomy, integrated water systems, automated and remote monitoring irrigation systems, wastewater management, large-scale water systems and service programs for alfalfa, silage and gopher management.
